Mom picked the photograph that accompanied the obituary below when she pre-planned her funeral, about 8 years ago. For me it's a little stern, a bit like her mother, who was a serious Baptist farm wife. Above is my favorite. It's the one that hangs in the family gallery on the staircase in my house. My mom's young here, and enthusiastic, happily the center of attention, singing, as she loved to do. It's going to be a long time before I can really get my head fully around what happened two weeks ago, but I know that having this picture of her will be one of the things that will get me through it.
